Laundry Preparation
Sorting Preferences:
• For sanitary reasons, The Laundry Lady LLC does not sort dirty laundry. If you have specific preferences (e.g., separating lights, darks, or delicates), you must sort your laundry and label the bags accordingly. There will be a $6 load separation fee for each load under 10lbs.
• If you choose not to sort your laundry but are concerned about colors bleeding, we offer color catcher sheets for $0.75 per sheet. Please let us know if you’d like these included in your service.
Bagging Requirements:
• Laundry must be placed in securely tied garbage bags or reusable laundry bags to ensure safe and hygienic handling.
•We do not accept laundry in baskets, hampers, or other open containers.
Sanitary Policy
To maintain a clean and safe environment for all customers, The Laundry Lady LLC has strict guidelines regarding unsanitary laundry:
We do not accept laundry that contains:
• Pests, such as bed bugs, fleas, or roaches.
• Biological materials beyond typical household traces, such as feces, urine, blood, or vomit.
Pre-Approval for Accommodations:
• We understand that life happens, and kids or pets may have accidents. In these situations, we’re willing to work with you to make special arrangements, such as taking your order to a laundromat. However, this must be discussed and approved with us before pick-up.
• Please note, accommodations will only be made for manageable issues, and we reserve the right to decline items we deem excessively unsanitary or hazardous. Additional fees will apply.
Unsanitary Orders Without Pre-Approval:
• If your laundry is deemed unsanitary and no prior approval was obtained, the laundry will not be washed and will be returned as-is.
• A $35 unsanitary fee will be charged, and this fee must be paid in full before the laundry is returned.
Failure to comply with these policies may result in cancellation of future services.
Foreign Objects, Debris & Sharp Items: To protect our equipment and staff, laundry must be free of excessive debris and foreign objects. This includes, but is not limited to:
• Trash, food wrappers, or excessive loose debris such as dirt, sand, leaves, or food crumbs
• Office supplies such as push pins, paper clips, staples, or pens
• Needles, syringes, razor blades, or any sharp objects
• Small toys, hardware, rocks, screws, tools, or similar items
• Makeup items, crayons, slime, putty, or substances that may melt or stain machines
If foreign objects are discovered during washing, an unsanitary/handling fee starting at $35 will be applied. If sharp objects are present, the laundry will be returned unwashed and the fee will still apply for safety precautions.
We reserve the right to decline any order that poses a risk to our equipment or staff.
Payment Policy
Billing for the weight of your laundry:
• Payment for the weight of your order is due by 10:00 PM on the day of pick-up. Failure to pay on time will result in a $20 late fee being added to your invoice.
Billing for large items:
• Any large items (e.g., blankets, mopheads, etc) are sometimes billed separately after the laundry is processed and itemized. This is because we do not sort dirty laundry before washing, so large items are not always identified until after the laundry is clean and folded.
• Payment for large items must be made before delivery.
Final Payment and Delivery:
• All balances, including any unpaid large item fees or unsanitary fees, must be paid in full before delivery.
Damaged Items
• The Laundry Lady LLC is not responsible for damage to items resulting from pre-existing conditions, such as weak fabric, loose buttons, or items left in pockets.
• We are also not responsible for color bleeding if laundry is not sorted or if you decline the use of color catcher sheets.
Pick-Up and Delivery
• Our service is designed for curbside convenience. Please ensure your laundry is ready for pick-up and placed in a secure location, such as by your front door or another accessible spot, at the scheduled timeframe. For delivery, we will return your clean laundry to the same location.
• If you prefer to meet us at the door for pick-up or delivery, please notify us in advance.
• If your laundry is not ready at the scheduled pick-up time or does not meet the preparation requirements outlined, your order may be canceled, and a $15 missed pick-up fee will be charged to reschedule.
• Delivery will not be completed until all payments, including any additional fees, are made in full.
